Check out the Front Pages of San Diego Magazine

Rebeca Chapell's write up in the San Diego Magazine for October was one of the best I've seen..it even inspired me to ensure I live the life I've set myself out to experience. Travel and color the world. :) I'm proud to be a part of the October issue and can't wait until my next destination presents itself.

Adventures in Designing a tiny space - My New Pad!

This is the first time ever I have had complete carte blanche (yes for even as bossy as I am I have comprised for a significant other in design) on designing a new apartment. I have decided to take it on with vigor using my passions; color and recycling.
I pinky scout promise to:
- buy only used items, water saving products, fight the city to get recycling in my complex, create an outside dog run haven for my puglet and an exterior dining room.

I'll update with photos of before, during and the final product (October 30th is my deadline).

Watch and see how I can pull it together.....keeping the enviroment in mind every second and each purchase.

Budget: $1000.00
Deadline: October 30th, 2009
Launch: today September 24th, 2009

Creating art and speaking at the Woman's Expo

So my new to do list includes not only speaking at Ikea Thanksgiving weekend and the woodworkers meeting here in San Diego but I've had the honor to be asked to lecture about color and my experience being a part of the Design Star cast at the Women's Expo in Pasedena on October 11th and on December 4th in Del Mar. I'm working my booty off on a new line of paintings that will be exclusively for sale at the two events and a small design line for the home. Laura of Colori will be selling her gilded tiles at the booth as well. Come check it out!

Riveria magazine

This month's latest Riveria magazine features not only JG Color Studios as the back page but also Matt Devine of the Glass Haus and Little Italy's Luis de Jesus. Some of the biggest artistic influences in San Diego this year. The Glass Haus is one of my favorite places to visit new artists and see the most talented pieces put together in our little art scene. My other favorite Friday night stop is Subtext and this Friday night is Kettner Nights. I'll be stopping by Bedford Built to see his new pieces and Klassik to check out a new sofa for my new pad.
